Convert a Duration to Hours, Minutes, Days, Months or Years
This converter transforms a duration expressed in one specific unit of time and converts it into another unit.
You can use several time units to convert.
Convert minutes, hours, months and years
This tool is useful for anyone who wants to know the equivalence of one time measurement compared to another.
You can convert minutes into seconds or hours into months. You can convert any type of duration.
Choose the precision level for the conversions
The converter offers several precision levels to adapt the results to your needs. Each setting is based on a different estimate of the length of a month or a year.
Approximate
This option uses simple values that are quick to calculate: a year is 365 days and a month is 30 days. It is the most direct method, suited to everyday, non-critical conversions.
Average
It is based on the actual average length of a year (365.2425 days) and of a month (about 30.44 days). It offers a good compromise between simplicity and accuracy, particularly useful in scientific or calendar contexts.
High precision
This setting uses even more detailed values to represent the length of a tropical year. It is ideal if you need high accuracy in time-related calculations, such as astronomical simulations or professional tools.
Convert a duration efficiently
This converter is very practical and was designed for an optimal user experience. Choose the base unit and the one to convert to. Enter the base value and the result is converted automatically.
Base value field
Use the white field for the base value (the first one at the top).
The reference unit
To perform the conversions, this tool uses the second as the reference unit. All the other time units (minute, hour, day, month, year, etc.) are expressed relative to the second. This allows fast and accurate conversion between any units.
For example, one minute equals 60 seconds, one hour equals 3,600 seconds, and a month is approximated to 2,592,000 seconds (i.e. 30 days).
How many decimal places?
The converter automatically rounds the results when necessary so as not to exceed 4 digits after the decimal point.
