What is a calorie?

A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy. In the context of food, calories represent the energy our body gets from the foods we eat. Macronutrients such as protein, carbs and fat provide calories to our body.

Protein, Carbs, Fat and Fiber

Protein is essential for the growth and repair of body tissues. Carbs are the body's main source of energy. Fat is a concentrated source of energy. Dietary fiber aids digestion, helps regulate blood sugar and contributes to gut health.

What is a macronutrient?

Macronutrients are the nutrients our body needs in large amounts to function properly. They include protein, carbs and fat. Fiber, although technically a carbohydrate, is often considered separately because of its specific nutritional properties.

Who is this calorie counter for?

This calorie counter is ideal for people who want to track their calorie, macronutrient and fiber intake, whether for health reasons, weight loss, muscle gain, improved digestion or simply to better understand their diet.

Limits and precautions

It is important to note that the nutritional values of foods can vary depending on the brand, preparation and other factors. This counter provides estimates based on average values per 100 g of food.
