Convert Distance and Length Units: Meter (mm, cm, dm, m, km,…), Mile, Inch, Foot and Yard

The purpose of this converter is to convert distance units (meter, kilometer, centimeter, mile, ...) quickly.

You can use several units.

Convert meters (m) and kilometers (km)

This converter is useful for anyone who wants to measure the distance or length of something and convert it into another unit.

How the converter works

To convert a distance, just type the value in the input field corresponding to the source unit, then select the source unit in the drop-down list. The result is then displayed automatically in the field corresponding to the target unit.

Metric and imperial units

The converter supports metric system units (millimeter, centimeter, meter, kilometer, ...) as well as US customary/imperial units (inch, foot, yard, mile). You can easily switch from one system to the other, for example converting inches to centimeters or miles to kilometers.

Travel and navigation

When planning a route or a trip, distances are sometimes given in a unit different from the one we are used to. This converter lets you bridge miles and kilometers, or feet and meters.

The nautical mile is commonly used in maritime and air navigation.

Reference unit

The meter is the reference unit for measuring distance in this converter. All conversions first go through the meter, meaning each value is converted to meters before being transformed into the desired unit.

Meter and kilometer

Generally speaking, the meter is commonly used in everyday life, DIY and construction. The kilometer is used to measure larger distances, particularly road trips and travel.
